Statistics: Russia’s deflation at 0.12% in week of June 11–17
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price deflation amounted to 0.12% in the week from June 11 through June 17, and inflation has reached 11.51% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
Prices for sugar decreased by 2.01%, for eggs by 0.61%, and for buckwheat by 0.3%. Prices for sunflower oil also contracted by 0.03% and millet prices by 0.02%, but prices for margarine rose by 0.31% and for rice by 0.38%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables fell by 2.5% on average, including the prices for cabbage that decreased by 9.72%, for potatoes by 0.24%, and for onions by 2.09%. The cucumber prices went down by 0.14% and tomato prices contracted by 6.49%, while onions became 2.09% cheaper.
The price for gasoline and for diesel fuel remained almost flat.
